Baked Donuts FAQ: Shelf Life, Ambient Storage and Private Label

Baked, not fried. Ambient. Long shelf life. Those three things make The Little Happy Bakery donuts different from fresh bakery lines. We bake them in Sofia, Bulgaria, and supply retailers and distributors across Europe and the Middle East. Below are common questions from buyers, distributors and consumers. Are your donuts baked or fried?

All of our donuts are oven-baked, not fried. This applies to the whole range, from the 50 g glazed donuts to the 200 g mini share bags. The donuts are ambient and individually flow-packed, so they are handled like a packaged product rather than a fresh one.

How long do baked donuts last, and how should they be stored?

Our baked donuts have a long shelf life of 6 months. They are ambient products, so no refrigeration is needed at any stage. Store them in a cool, dry place at 0 to 25 °C.

What flavours are available, and what is coming next?

Single glazed donuts (50 g) come in strawberry glaze and cocoa glaze, which we also call chocolate glaze. Single filled donuts (60 g) come with strawberry jam, blueberry jam, cocoa cream or orange jam, and double donuts (2 x 60 g) come with strawberry jam or cocoa cream. Mini donuts in 200 g share bags come in strawberry, lemon and cocoa glaze. A green pistachio glaze is soon to be available.

What are the pack sizes and pallet configurations?

Single donuts (50 g and 60 g) are packed 18 pieces per box and 264 boxes per pallet, which is 4,752 pieces on a 120 x 80 x 240 cm pallet. Double donuts are packed 20 per box and 132 boxes per pallet, which is 2,640 pieces on a 120 x 80 x 180 cm pallet. Mini share bags are packed 7 bags per box and 176 boxes per pallet, which is 1,232 bags on a 120 x 80 x 240 cm pallet.

Do you make private label donuts?

Yes, we develop private label donuts for retailers, distributors and brand owners. This covers custom recipes, fillings, glazes and formats, packaging in your brand with design support, production under ISO 22000, and logistics by full or mixed pallets with export documentation handled. Is the bakery in Bulgaria ISO 22000 certified?

Yes. Our production site in Sofia is certified to ISO 22000:2018, certificate No. 220334, issued by MG Global and valid to 6 October 2027, and the bakery operates under HACCP. Lubimka Ltd., the family-owned company behind the brand, was founded in 1997 and has more than 25 years in the dessert industry.

Where do you deliver?

We export across Europe and the Middle East. Countries named in our company materials include the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Czechia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Georgia and Ukraine, along with markets in the Middle East. If your market is not listed, contact us and we will confirm what is possible.

Where can consumers buy Little Happy donuts?

Our donuts are sold through distribution partners, for example in Greece and Slovenia. If you are a consumer looking for a shop near you, email office@halvalubimka.com and we will point you to the nearest distributor. Please include your country and town so we can give you a precise answer.

Where can I meet the team in person?

The Little Happy Bakery is exhibiting at SIAL Paris 2026, from 17 to 21 October 2026, at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre in Paris, France. You will find us at booth SB R368. Come and talk to us about listings, distribution and private label projects. Outside show dates, our office is at 1 Trayan Tanev Str., Sofia 1362, Bulgaria, and is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 17:00.
